iCloud Storage: Apple's Official Stance

The iPhoneWriter.com team started the day today with an email message from the iCloud team at Apple Computer about the service we've been enjoying for the past several months. It seems that the recent mixup that resulted in some users receiving an extra 38 years before their iCloud Storage would expire has been addressed… officially.

Per the email message from Apple; "When you moved your MobileMe account to iCloud, we provided you with a complimentary storage upgrade beyond the standard 5GB that comes with an iCloud account to help you with the transition. Originally, this storage upgrade was set to expire on September 30, 2012.

As a thank you to our former MobileMe members, we will continue to provide you with this complimentary storage upgrade at no charge, for an additional year, until September 30, 2013. No action is required on your part…".  The email then goes on to link readers to a support article on Apple's website, followed by the obligatory thank you for using iCloud.

So, what do you think?  Is another year of freebie iCloud storage worth the price?
